Let's visit Numberland

The first few years of a child’s life are crucial for mathematics development. Therefore, we would like to introduce you to our Maths Learning Resources of ‘Willy’s numbers’ range in bundles for special prices!

These have been designed by HABA Pro Education for the holistic, internationally successful concept Let’s visit Numberland.

Let’s visit Numberland is the irresistible translation of crucial basic mathematical knowledge into the emotional and imaginative world of 3 to 5-year-old children.

This research and field proven co-adventure has become an international success because of its ease, flexibility and efficiency: The original German (peer reviewed) study showed that children aged 3 to rising 6 years of age made one year of progress in ten weeks in terms of mathematics and language, regardless of their socioeconomic background.

Teachers appreciate the engaging, inclusive character and the impact on all areas of the curriculum, thus substantially supporting their work.

"Numberland can help you with all these hot early childhood topics: Number sense, Subitising, Numeracy, Shapes, Tenframes, Place holder, Partitioning… Language… Soft skills… not to forget a happy childhood full of free play!"

Let’s visit Numberland builds the bridge from genuine mathematical understanding to the formal language of mathematics by taking a child’s perspective: How do they see the world? What can they build on? What do they think? What do they need and like?

Travelling to Numberland, the children get a multi-sensory experience of all aspects of numbers as they play: They meet the numbers one to ten, listen to their stories, build their gardens, play active games and more.

The concept combines brain research, developmental psychology and didactics into a dynamic, imaginative and concrete playing environment that can be adapted to individual needs. A research project showed that children aged three to six made one year of progress in ten weeks in terms of mathematics and language, regardless of their socioeconomic background. A second research study confirmed the findings.

Since Let’s visit Numberland started in Germany in 2003, it has become a standard approach for many pre-primary institutions. An English edition of the handbook enabled the concept to travel to countries such as the UK, the USA, Estonia, Thailand, Poland, Romania, Turkey, Israel, and others with much positive response.
