Creating Classrooms is a new company, bringing HABA furniture and play equipment to the UK.
Hi! I’m a mother to 5 children, a former teacher of children (and adults) with learning difficulties, followed by 15 years experience working with architects, designers and furniture companies to make spaces for children in nurseries, schools and public buildings around the world.
Our aim has always been to create inspiring spaces for children: welcoming and harmonious, inclusive and beautiful, resourced with sustainable furniture, and we’ve had the great pleasure of working with HABA in Germany and specifying their products with multiple projects over recent years.
We are really thrilled to be invited to represent HABA and introduce their beautiful furniture and play equipment to the UK!
Creating Classrooms is a family owned business (like HABA!) and our team’s background is in education (nursery, primary school, special needs) and design of spaces (nurseries, schools, play areas and public buildings).
HABA are an 80-year-old company and one of the foremost education furniture companies in the world, as well as famous for both board games and wooden toys! The scope of what they can offer is quite mind-boggling! There is, literally, a solution for every space and every budget, whether it’s play areas, bathrooms, sound absorbing panels, reception and office spaces, and of course classrooms for all ages. It’s one of the reasons we like to start with a conversation: to understand your needs and share ideas, so that what we make is perfect for you.
Most importantly, HABA share our values about the importance of sustainability, the durability of furniture and equipment we put into a room, the idea that the things we choose to put into a children’s space have a major impact on the quality of learning and play and the type of interactions that take place, as well as making visible your own values about environmental responsibility. Small things can have a big impact on experiences and choosing the right things for your space is something we can help with right away.
HABA furniture is made to order and most things can be customised to suit your space, allowing every customer to make their room unique. Our friendly, experienced team are always happy to discuss your requirements and make suggestions about things that we think will fit perfectly.
Our aim is always to help make inspirational, fun and creative spaces for children.
For us, quality is essential – not only the triple A grade quality PEFC certified wood used throughout the HABA furniture range, but also the process of sourcing wood within an hour of the factory in Germany, efficiency of the ISO 14001 certified production (all by products of production are used and nothing is wasted), in-house design and production with state of the art machines, rigorous selection of suppliers, and quality control that is second to none.
Anyway, that’s enough from me! We’re determined to offer the best children’s furniture available, and offer the best support to help you create unique spaces for your children. Get in touch, we’d love to hear from you!
HABA have been certified since 2003 by this Work and Family Audit which rewards our management and our overall human resources strategy geared towards a work and family balance.
ICTI defines the certification codes corresponding to compliance with the labour code, prohibition of child labour, and respect for health. HABA works exclusively with suppliers who respect the ICTI code.
