Certification

Creating Classrooms and HABA has several types of certification that prove the products’ quality and their commitment to nature. In addition, our new 21/22 Sustainability Report explains our steps to increase responsibility to sustainability in more depth.

Quality

Firstly, HABA’s furniture is made to the highest quality standards certified DIN EN ISO 9001. Furniture with its production is also certified DIN ISO 14001 for environmental management.

Secondly, seating and tables are made in accordance with DIN EN 1729 defining ergonomic seating.

Energy

HABA has developed a policy for more efficient use of energy. Moreover, it is continually measuring and reviewing its processes to improve energy management, now certified DIN ISO 50001.   Above all, modern energy management is used for all forms of energy (pressurised air, electricity, and heat) for all machines and in all buildings. Always with the environment in mind.

Wood

The wood in producing HABA furniture is mainly beech hardwood. Hardwood is sourced locally from the regional forestry industry around Bad Rodach in Germany. In addition, it is certified according to the PEFC system for sustainable forestry management.

Safety

Products that bear the GS label are tested for safety.  Play equipment such, as the GERMINO play lofts, are certified DIN EN 1176/1177 (playground equipment safety standards). Concerning construction and configuration of equipment, including safety distances and surfaces. These guidelines set out the requirements for the construction, installation, and configuration of playground equipment, including safety distances and the required safety surfaces.

All safety glass used in HABA products is conforming to EN 12600 certification.

Moreover, every HABA synthetic leather meets Öko-Tex Standard 100. That certifies that textiles do not contain substances likely to endanger a person’s health.

GS mark

The German GS mark is a voluntary safety mark. It is meant to ensure that the technical requirements for the safety of a product are met. And that all requirements will be monitored by an independent testing company such as TÜV Rheinland.  All effects of the product on the health and safety of humans are covered by the tests.

In conclusion, HABA’s wood furniture products are made to the highest quality standards and GS-tested.

HABA furniture is guaranteed against manufacturing defects for 10 years.
