Sustainability
We want you to enjoy our furniture for a very long time, that is why we select our raw materials very carefully and only use the highest quality beech and birch veneers to ensure our sustainability. HABA use veneer from genuine timber for all furniture products to create a sustainable classroom environment.
Sustainability and environmental protection have been an integrated part of HABA policy for over 80 years. In fact, this is one of the reasons we chose to partner with HABA. Our core beliefs and values fit so closely with the HABA ethics. We have a deep commitment to both creating beautiful, flexible learning environments for children and our responsibility to sustainability. All our quality, modular furniture products are made with real wood veneer from genuine timber, to create a healthy room climate.
How do we achieve sustainability in manufacturing?
Sustainability is a key at every step of the process
Recycling of leftover wood, use of rainwater for sanitation facilities, office air-conditioning through earth-air heat exchangers, electricity generation by photovoltaic systems, natural open spaces and facades, green roofs – the list of HABA’s measures to protect the environment is long. The HABA Family of Companies’ office building is one of Germany’s top 20 most sustainable buildings.
For us, complying with all applicable environmental laws and standards is not an obligation, but second nature! Sustainable action is a central element of the corporate philosophy – the office building “Leschenhof” (headquarters and factory production at Bad Rodach, Germany), completed at the end of 2012, represents this tradition and was awarded the Gold Certificate by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen (DGNB – German Sustainable Building Council) in 2014.
Our products have carried the PEFC seal since 2010, beech and birch wood we use for these comes from sustainable forests
